🌿 A New Chapter — My First Blog

Hello friends,

I’m so excited to write my first blog post here! It’s been a long time since I last wrote to share ideas, reflections, and encouragement. Writing has always been a space where I slow down, connect with my heart, and find meaning in the journey.

Finding Grace in the Busy Seasons

Since the pandemic, life has been full and fast-paced. Between working full-time as a mental health clinician and growing The Journey of Art Studio, my days often feel like a blur of sessions, art materials, and market checklists.

Yet even in the midst of exhaustion and uncertainty, I’ve experienced God’s grace — gentle reminders that I’m not walking this path alone. His presence often finds me in quiet moments: journaling outdoors, listening to the wind, or pressing flowers under warm sunlight. In nature, I rediscover peace and remember why I began creating — to honor the beauty of God’s creation and the calm it brings to our hearts.

Lessons from 7 Markets (and 9 Event Days)

Since May 2025, I’ve participated in seven different markets — some of them spanning two days — which means I’ve spent a total of nine full event days sharing my work with the community. In between, I also had a wedding — a beautiful reminder of love and celebration that mirrored much of what inspires my art.

Each market brought new lessons, challenges, and joys. There were long hours, heavy setups, and moments of uncertainty, yet also countless smiles, meaningful conversations, and heartfelt support. Every person who paused to connect with my pieces reminded me that creativity is not just about making — it’s about sharing love through the work of our hands.

Where Faith, Healing, and Creativity Meet

My journey in expressive art therapy continues to inspire me deeply. I’ve seen how art helps people heal, reflect, and find peace. Over time, I realized that my faith, career, and love of craft are beautifully intertwined — each one guiding me toward helping others find light and beauty in their own journeys.

Through The Journey of Art Studio, I hope to keep building a space where art, mindfulness, and faith meet — a community where beauty reminds us of grace, and creativity becomes a form of care for the soul.

Looking Ahead

As the year winds down, I’m giving myself permission to rest — to take a breath, realign, and create from a place of renewal. My next chapter will focus on new designs and meaningful projects, shaped by reflection rather than rush.

Announcements:
I’ll soon be taking a short vacation after my Winter Market in Burlingame, and I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be attending a pressed flower art course in Taiwan — a long-awaited dream! I can’t wait to learn from artists there and bring back inspiration to share with all of you.

Thank you, truly, for being part of this journey — for every encouraging word, visit, and moment of connection. May we continue to see beauty in small things and grace in every season.

With gratitude and joy,
Sharon Tan 🌸
